Working exclusively within the corporate arena, Cosmopolitan Catering has experienced exponential growth by identifying and solving the recurring problems that Silicon Valley companies face when using outdated corporate food-service models. We have in turn addressed each of our client’s needs independently to thereby provide customized solutions. The corporate food-service landscape is being redefined by Cosmopolitan Catering by way of bringing back the essence of the word “cater”. While our vision and the core of our business model remains consistent, we take a personalized approach when implementing every food-service program we craft, knowing that no two companies will have the same needs.

Cosmopolitan Catering strives to be recognized for producing delicious, healthy, and socially responsible food through personalized customer service that is second to none. Jacob Caputo

Owner-Kitchen Operations

It is Jake’s vision that brought Cosmopolitan Catering to life.  With a commitment to producing events that are remembered for the food, Cosmopolitan Catering quickly earned the reputation for high-quality menus that pleased the pickiest of palates.  Jake served as Cosmopolitan Catering’s first Executive Chef and wrote and developed many of the menus and flavor profiles that Cosmopolitan Catering still uses to this day.  Currently, Jake oversees all day-to-day kitchen operations for Cosmopolitan Catering, working side-by-side with Executive Chef Scott Sasaki in menu creation and development, food costing, product sourcing, and management of kitchen staff . Over the years, Jake has built an impressive team of over 120 skilled chefs and cooks currently working for the company. His executed vision of defining the highest standards of food quality in the corporate arena is just one reason for the success of Cosmopolitan Catering. In addition to his commitment to his company, Jake serves our local community as a board member for multiple non-profit organizations.  Jake has an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts from California Culinary Academy in San Francisco.

Rick Angelini

Owner-Business Operations

Rick came to Cosmopolitan Catering with years of business management experience working with high-profile companies both national and internationally.  He had aspirations of redefining the landscape of corporate dining.  Coupled with the food expertise of founder Jake Caputo, Rick was able to apply his years of experience in marketing, sales, and business management to transform an already successful catering company into a leader in the industry. Rick works closely within all aspects of the business to ensure that Cosmopolitan Catering lives up to its own expectations and delivers a service and a product that is exactly as it is advertised for all facets of catering and café operation and management.  Rick leads the efforts in brand development, sales and marketing, contract negotiation, and financial analysis, as well as the establishment and implementation of the customer service standards by which Cosmopolitan Catering is measured. Rick serves on the board of directors for the Silicon Valley Organization, and chairs and contributes to committees for Strive San Jose, the International Facilities Management Association, the Building Owners and Management Organization, the California Retail Food Safety Coalition, and FARE - The Business of Food.

Scott Sasaki

Executive Chef

Chef Scott is regarded as one of the finest culinary minds in corporate dining. After receiving his formal education at Lederwolf Culinary Institution, he received training under a culinary genius while working under the renowned Chef Thomas Keller at the French Laundry. Scott then took his talents to help develop the prestige of Tavistock Restaurants and the Garibaldi Group of Restaurants. Most recently, before joining Cosmopolitan Catering, Chef Scott spent five years as the Executive Chef at Google, continuing the legendary notoriety made famous by Chef Charlie Ayres. Chef Scott shares the vision to redefine the meaning of what corporate catering is, allowing companies throughout the Bay Area the opportunity to offer their employees a food-service experience that is both appreciated and valued.  Chef Scott is tasked with the execution of all aspects of food production and takes pride in providing food that is consistently safe, healthy, and socially  responsible.

Catering Operations Manager

Will has compiled years of experience in the hospitality industry ranging from fine dining to banquet service to five-star hotel dining.  Will oversees all logistical and operational aspects of Cosmopolitan Catering’s operational functions including hiring, training, and service standard implementation. Will’s focus is on sharpening and refining our processes and striving to offer a “next level service”.  His commitment to Cosmopolitan Catering’s service standards allow our clients and guests alike a pleasurable experience from beginning to end.  Beyond traditional, corporate catering services, it is Will’s attention to detail and industry expertise that allow Will and his team to deliver a memorable experience whether it be intimate catering for 10 or multi-faceted catering operations for thousands.. William has an Associate’s Degree in Hospitality & Restaurant Management from California Culinary Academy in San Francisco.
